_ Welcome to my first blog. I will posting lots of simple activities to do with you little ones and sharing some tried and tested activities that I use in my classes along with any little tips that I discover along the way that I feel may of  help  to you and your little one to get creative.

For my first blog I am sharing a non cook play dough recipe that I found a long time ago. As there is no cooking your little one will be able to do all of this with very little help.

    Non cook play dough
Things you will need
  • 1 cup water

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • Mixing bowl

  • 3 cup flour

  • 1 cup salt

  • spoon or spatula

  • Food coloring

Instructions

  • Combine 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of oil in a mixing bowl.

  • Add 3 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt. Use a spoon/spatula to mix the ingredients together. Pick up a little dough with your fingers. If the dough sticks to your fingers, add flour 1 tsp. at a time until the dough no longer sticks to your fingers.

  • Color your play dough by adding a few drops of food coloring. If you are mixing two colors together to make another color, do so before you add it to your dough. Knead the dough with your hands until the color is completely blended in.
Store this play dough in the same way as cooked. Wrap in cling film and store in an airtight container.

Top tip

You can use baby oil, rather than cooking oil for a nicer scent or just add a couple of drops of your chosen essence. I use a cup from a toy tea set for measuring which I find the little ones enjoy, is easier to use and for us, is a better quantity of play dough as we like to make to couple of different batches so we can have different colours.
